I did a little scrapping this morn and used the photo that I had posted on 4/25 (see below). It was for a challenge at the Color Combos Galore site using only red, yellow, white and beige.

Ah, the smell of a good latte in the air while waiting for a table at Harris Street Cafe. What could be better - an early morning in Fairhaven with the sun shinning and the family ready to bring on the day. Oh, yea, Andrea should have been here, too. And certain people (I won't mention names) should not have kept turning their backs to the camera. At least Dirty Dan gave me a welcoming smile & posed for me.

Note to Self....

We could all use a little appreciation. And who tends to be harder on ourselves than, well, ourselves! Take some time this week to write yourself a little thank you note for being wonderful. It can be short and sweet or long and detailed, but either way, it's NICE to give a little thanks.

Mossy Worlds

Recently (well, a month ago, now) my little girl (well, not so little anymore) wanted to play in the woods. So, we did and had a ton of fun! We created little mossy worlds. We hiked our woods, carefully gathered a variety of moss, layered sand and dirt in our jars, added a few stones for contrast and waa-laa, we had our little worlds of mossy cuteness. Thanks, honey, for a super-duper fun day playing in the woods.

It wasn't that long ago when my darling daughter was bugging me to start blogging. Ok, I thought - but what would I say? what could I post? who would read this stuff? Well, most of the 1000 hits was little ole me --- has anyone looked at some of my aMusing stuff, today? I'll just take a little peek at my blog. I better put "something" new up to keep em comin'. I gotta tell ya, it's been so much fun and now I'm reading other blogs, too. I feel cool, with it and in with in crowd. I've got a blog! Thanks, Andrea, for taking your mum by the hand and bring her into the world of blogging.
But, who are these people hitting my blog 1000 times (as if I was counting)?

National Hug Week

Don't ya just love all these cool National Holidays - there's one for everyday of the week. Maybe not all nationally recognized, but holidays to celebrate and take note of, none the less. This week go out and hug someone or something. Hug a sister, a brother, a wife, a husband, a significant other, a friend, a dog, a cat, a hamster, a tree, a teddy bear (the stuffed kind), a comfy pillow or just give yourself a huge hug!
You deserve a hug today and so do they.

i'm scrappysam ..... and i'm sticking to it

It's all about me and scrapbooking. At our recent SAS (StartAScrapbook an online scrapbooking site) weekend long, online scrapbooking crop (for those you don't know what a crop is: it's when scrapbookers get together and create layouts or cards using a challenge(s) that will help inspire, follow directions, view different takes on the challenge(s) and generally have fun). Or as my DH likes to call them eCrops. Anyway, one of the challenges was to do a layout about "why we like to scrapbook" an AAM (All About Me) page. I wanted to try my hand (and puter) at something different in digi scrapbooking and WaaLaa here it is. (for an up close and personal look or to read the fine print - just click on the picture)

A Confession of a Crazy Woman

I'm ashamed and embarrassed to admit that I've been a lurker, stalker and springtime seeker of the lilac all my life. I have been known to drive around town hunting this little bit of pre-summer bloom, sneaking out of the car with shears in hand, hoping no one sees me snipping a small bouquet of these wonderful fragrant flowers from an abundant flowering bush. At times, I have asked, begged and ogled one's garden enough to be given a bouquet just to get rid of me. And laughing all the way home with said bouquet in fist that I had scored (arm pumping action has been known to happen, too). I know I'm bad and shameless, but I just love lilacs. To inhale their fragrance puts a smile on my face and a little springtime joy in my heart. and with that being said.....

My darling daughter has written me that Portland Oregon is in full bloom of springtime flowering bushes and lilacs abound in that fair city. humpfeldo ... not yet in Bellingham. And no lilacs have been seen, ogled or stalked in the 222 miles north of Portland in Bellingham. Yet!

However, leaving our "one stop shopping" establishment this morning I noticed a light whiff in the air --- could it be? is that a true lilac scent, I smell? Lo and Behold right there, next to the door, was a small display of springtime flowering bushes FOR SALE. AND WHITE LILAC'S no less. I grinned - I counted my pennies -- I purchased a fine specimen of Genus Syringa for my very own. It's gorgeous! I've been doing the happy dance for the last few hours. (More arm pumping going on here.) Now, I just need to find the "perfect" spot to plant my very own lilac bush. A small, hidden lilac spot to call my very own, protected from the lilac lurkers that are out there seeking, searching and hunting for a small little clump of springtime goodness. But, if they admire my fine display of snowy, white blossoms and shower me with flattery, I can be bought & I'll be glad to share a little snippet or two. It'll be payback time for the confession of a crazy woman.

Tip Toeing Through The Tulips

While the gang was home for a visit, Scooter and I went sunrise photo shooting (along with every photographer in the region willing to be up and about at 5:30 am). Here's a little glimpse of our area tulip fields. This photo was taken by Nancy Higgins, a pro wanting my red jacket in her photo. Look for it in a magazine in the near future (not sure which one, yet). And just wait for all the tulip scrapbook pages to come, along with mossy rock greatness, mountains, family fun & games.
----- oh yea, there will be lots!

Hug A Tree - - - - -

Have you hugged a tree, today? No? Well, go find one and hang on -- it's refreshing, sweet and rewarding to hug a tree. And just think how the tree will feel. Love the tree you hug, be one with nature and remember, earth day should be every day.
Now, go find that tree and give it a hug.
