Amazing!

During the APRIL VISIT, we went down to Larrabee State Park at the lowest tide for the year. I think it was the lowest tide for B'ham -- maybe not on record but in our record books it was l-o-w. There were hundreds and hundreds of StarFish all purple with a few orange mixed in. Babies, juniors and huge senior StarFish. It was a great sight to see.

Southwest Adventure

Photos by Scott and Sara Mansfield ---- I'm lucky and very appreciative that they are always thinking of me and send photos of their adventures. Thanks San Francisco Mansfields!
(this one is being showcased at Jessica Spragues' site today - you may have hunt for it - LOL)

Number 2 (for today)

The San Francisco group has returned from a trip to the southwest -- I couldn't wait to start scrapbooking some of the pics they have sent. Yipee - I've got something new to scrap and the pictures are so so so a-w-e-s-o-m-e!!!

Number 1

Another challenge layout (LO). I've used these pictures before, but they fit this color challenge perfectly and I can never have enough LO's from that fantastic mom & me trip to SB.

Goals

The assignment for a recent scrapbooking challenge was to do a layout (LO) of a goal. This is just one of mine: To live in Scotland for a while. What's one of your goals?

Whenever you're in Portland you have to go to the Oregon Coast - it's only a couple of hours west and worthy of a day trip. Andrea and I went over - it was cold - it was windy - it was the beach!

What can I say --- we're a family of cameras ---- lots and lots of cameras.

Thursday, June 11, 2009

While cleaning out my scrap room closet (ugh!), I discovered a little box of photos (who knew?). Buried in the bottom of the box was this little picture -- it was very dark and I couldn't tell who it was. So, I scanned it, lightened it, and there was my DD smiling up at me --- so, so sweet. Of course, it got scrapped. (credits for the digi police: Cafe J-photo mask, DragonArt-dandelions, White almond kiss alpha and Katie Pertiet-paper.)

I usually don't mix four pattern papers together on my layouts --- but this one just wanted something different and I stepped out of my box. A couple of photos from my recent visit to Portland's Japanese Garden with Andrea. It's a wonderful place - so quiet, serene and peaceful.

Yosemite

Another scrapbook site challenge - to use only sepia or b&w photo. I had to step out of my 8.5x11 box and go with a 12x12 to do the photo justice. Photo by Scott Mansfield Photography.

Shadow Dancing

A bit busier then I usually do for a layout --- but it was for a challenge and I had fun with it and shadow dancing on the pier at Lake Padden in April with Scooter. tee hee

Summer is here (shh, don't tell mother nature that Bellingham's summer usually doesn't start until way after July 4th). A few of my favorite things in summer livin' are: camping, sun tea, farmer's market, fresh flowers and road trippin'. What are your 5 favorite things? (and remember when lists are pondered, they may change again and again and again.)

Park HIke

Just scrappin', scrappin', scrappin' --- whew! I love this picture and had to get it onto a page ASAP. Last weekend's trip to Vancouver. We found a great park in North Vancouver called Lighthouse Park --- old growth forest, fantastic views and short hikes throughout a wonderful Canadaian park.

Nitobe Gardens - UBC

Our annual trek into Vancouver was spectacular this year. A little Indie, a peaceful walk through Nitobe Gardens on campus, north Vancouver discoveries, and Lighthouse Park. It was the best yet!
